Our first guest on the podcast is one of the proudest members of the Carleton community, but also one of the busiest. Alicia Gal is a Carleton PhD Candidate in Biomedical Engineering, an award winning scholar, an NSERC CREATE READi Trainee and member of Carleton’s Chan Lab. Her research focuses on the study of motion for the purpose of performance enhancement. Specifically, she studies the physics of body motion and how bone placement throughout a task affects performance. Since joining the Carleton community, Alicia has taken on roles with the Carleton Ravens football team, before joining Carleton soccer where she is now entering her seventh season as the Biomechanics Coach.
If that doesn’t sound like enough for you, Alicia is also a fitness instructor with Carleton Athletics teaching as often as five times a week.
