We’re deep in the midst of exam season, and 2024 is coming to a close. Whether you’ve finished up your last finals or you’re still studying hard, it’s time to start thinking about January and all it entails. Along with your new year’s resolutions, consider taking these three steps to make your transition to 2025 a smooth ride.
Utilize Academic Supports
Carleton provides several academic support services to help students study, learn and grow through their courses.
The Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) provides educational programs and services to help students achieve their academic goals. Visit a “How to… from 10 to 2” session for drop-in support on learning and writing related tasks.
The Academic Advising Centre can help you understand academic rules and regulations, find strategies to maximize your CGPA, find solutions to any academic difficulties and more.
If you’re an engineering student, check out the Elsie MacGill Learning Centre (EMLC) for academic support and tutoring. Science students can visit the Science Student Success Centre (SSSC) for study groups, mentoring and workshops.
Focus On Your Wellness
As the winter term approaches, it’s important to keep your wellness front of mind. Carleton provides many resources to help support you throughout your university career and beyond. Visit the Mental Health and Wellness website for many tools and events to learn more about wellness at Carleton. If you’re looking for resources that fit your personal needs, check out the Wellness Services Navigator for a curated list.
Visit the Wellness Desk in MacOdrum Library at any time during their hours of operation to connect with the Wellness Coordinator, student wellness navigators or just decompress during stressful times.
Another great way to support your wellness this winter is to stay active! Check out these three ways to get outdoors this season, even if it’s chilly.
Stay Connected and Informed
Staying knowledgeable about your academics, campus events and services is a great way to reduce stress and stay on top of your schedule. Download the Carleton Mobile app to view your grades, class and exam schedules, find support services and stay up-to-date on student news and events.
You can also follow @MyCarletonU on Instagram, Threads and X (formerly Twitter) for news and services right in your social media feeds.
Best of luck in the winter term!
