Resume Workshop – Session 3: Insider Insights into Applicant Tracking Software

Whether you’re a seasoned job seeker or just starting to explore the job market, this four-part, in-person Resume Workshop series from Career Services is tailored to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to stand out in today’s competitive job landscape! Attend every session, or just the ones that are relevant to you. This series allows students and alumni to get tips from a Career Consultant about resumes and includes time to work on your resume each session so you can apply the knowledge you’ve learned.

Session 3 covers applicant tracking software, which is software that manages the recruiting and hiring process, including job postings and applications. This session includes:

  • How applicant tracking software (ATS) is used by organizations
  • Indicators that an organization may be using ATS
  • How the use of ATS affects how you write your resume and cover letter

What to expect:

  • Viewing a PowerPoint presentation that covers the above topics
  • Working on your resume/cover letter and seeking input from the presenter
  • Participating in activities related to creating a resume/cover letter

How to prepare:

  • Bring your device (laptop, tablet) to work on your resume/cover letter during the workshop
  • You can also print out a hard copy of your resume/cover letter and write notes by hand with a pen
