Mentorship Night for Women Students in STEM: Learn to Showcase Your Technical Presentation Skills

When: Thursday, October 9th, 2025
Time: 5:30 pm — 7:30 pm
Location: Teraanga Commons
Room: 270-274

A mentorship night is for women students in STEM to participate in a roundtable mentorship opportunity with working professionals from leading engineering and IT companies. Join the Faculty of Engineering and Design for the last mentorship circle of the fall term on how to develop your technical presentation skills!

During this session, you will:

  1. Build a solid presentation game plan: Learn how to set up your slides and structure your talk so your ideas come across clearly and make sense from start to finish.
  2. Make STEM topics easy to understand: Pick up tips on breaking down complex information, using visuals that work, and making sure both technical and non-technical audiences can follow along.
  3. Boost your confidence on stage: Get practical advice on body language, tone and pacing so you feel more comfortable speaking and leave your audience impressed.
