Facilitated by Olivia Gilmer-Chekosky, this trauma-informed session will allow participants choice and agency over their bodies. The first half hour of class will be dedicated to discussing and practicing various somatic tools and techniques followed by a one-hour asana (physical) yoga class.
Yoga can be extremely beneficial in helping regulate your nervous system, finding safety within your body and can contribute to post-traumatic growth. It can also offer a safe container to explore feelings and sensations and can help connect participants to a sense of community.
This class is suited for all levels of yogis and will offer variations to best suit everyone’s personal yoga practice.
