Prepare for the Fair: Networking

The in-person Spring Career Fair is coming up on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, and Career Services is here to help you prepare!

Knowing how to network with employers will help you make the most out of attending career fairs, whether you’re looking for part-time, full-time or co-op jobs. Organize your networking questions and learn how to identify the skills, academic background and qualifications that employers are looking for.

At this workshop, you will:

• Discover the importance of networking in building connections
• Learn how to create your elevator pitch
• Learn how to articulate your skills and experiences
• Gain effective networking strategies that will help you stand out from the crowd
• Discover how to use networking as a tool to access the hidden job market
• Obtain tips on following up with employers after an event to help you develop long-lasting connections
