Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa, for heavy rainfall in thunderstorms on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday as a low pressure system tracks east across the region. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn’t a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.
The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.
