Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Ottawa with snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm expected the evening of Friday, March 28, 2025 into early morning Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Snow is forecast to develop this evening and become heavier tonight before easing early Saturday morning. Light snow possibly mixed with ice pellets may continue during the day Saturday, but amounts will be minimal. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.
The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa due to a likely potent spring ice storm. The risk of widespread, prolonged freezing rain is expected late Friday, March 28 through Monday, March 31, 2025.
Significant ice accretion from freezing rain, with general amounts of 5 to 15 mm. Accretion amounts in excess of 20 mm are possible over some areas. Local snowfall and ice pellet accumulations of 5 to 15 cm, mainly for central and northeastern Ontario. Possible utility outages. Slippery surfaces and broken tree branches from ice build-up.
