Winter Weather Advisory for Ottawa Ended

Update #3: Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

Environment Canada has ended the winter weather travel advisory for Ottawa. There are not any weather warnings in effect at present.

Update #2: Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

The winter weather travel advisory for Ottawa for snow is extended to Thursday, December 5, 2024. Snow is expected to continue in the morning before tapering off later in the day.

The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.

Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.

Update #1: Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Ottawa for snow beginning Wednesday morning, tapering off the morning of Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Snow with accumulations near 10 cm is expected, along with reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.

The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
