Environment Canada has ended the heat warning for Ottawa. There are not any weather warnings in effect at present.

Update #1: Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 1:45 p.m.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Ottawa, expected to begin the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5 and end Thursday, June 6, 2024.

High temperatures on Wednesday will reach 31 to 32 degrees Celsius and overnight lows will reach near 20 degrees Celsius early Thursday morning. These conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant people, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page and @MyCarletonU on Twitter for updates.

The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
