CUSA Vice-President Elections and Board of Directors Applications

Vice-President Elections

The Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) is seeking its next vice-presidents to join the president on the CUSA executive team.

The vice-president election nomination period is Wednesday, February 14 at 5:00 p.m. to Monday, February 26, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

The vice-president internal, vice-president student issues and vice-president student life job descriptions are available on the CUSA candidate central website. View the vice-president finance/treasurer job description.

Nominations must be submitted through the nomination form. The validation of nominations will occur the week immediately following the end of the nomination period.

The office term for executive positions is Wednesday, May 1, 2024 to Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

  • VP Internal/Secretary, one (1) seat
  • VP Student Issues, one (1) seat
  • VP Student Life, one (1) seat
  • VP Finance/Treasurer, one (1) seat*

*The VP Finance/Treasurer does not require a nomination form; it is a hired position that will be recommended to CUSA council by a hiring panel.

Board of Directors Applications

CUSA is selecting six students for board of directors positions. In this role, directors will be a fiduciary of CUSA, responsible for the long-term success of CUSA, including financially, reputationally and legally.

This multi-faceted position requires the use of many skills such as risk management, policy development, strategic management and more. This is a volunteer position that requires roughly 10 hours of work per month.

Timelines for board of directors positions:

  • The application period closes on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Interviews will run Monday, March 18 to Thursday, March 28, 2024
  • Council consideration will occur Monday, April 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
