The Carleton University Department of Recreation and Athletics will host an equity, diversity and inclusion speaker series this winter launching on Monday, January 22, 2024 with the first openly gay men’s professional hockey player and leading activist in the 2SLGBTQ+ space, Brock McGillis.
The series kicks off on Monday, January 22, 2024, with the first openly gay men’s professional hockey player and leading activist in the LGBTQ+ space, Brock McGillis. Brock’s passion lies with creating shifts and shift makers. His continuous work to shift the conversation around sports and the 2SLGBTQ+ community earned him recognition as one of The Hockey News 100 most influential people in hockey for 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The talk is open to all members of the Carleton community and will begin shortly after 12:00 p.m. in the Ravens’ Nest, Alumni Hall. Registration for this session is free and now open.
