The freezing rain warning for Ottawa has ended. Currently, there are not any weather warnings in effect.

Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 8:00 p.m.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Ottawa for late overnight (Thursday, January 25, 2024) or early Friday, January 26, 2024 morning, and ending Friday afternoon.

An episode of freezing rain similar to the one experienced Wednesday and Wednesday night will affect the area. Several hours of freezing rain are likely. Some locations may see a changeover to rain Friday if temperatures rise above the freezing mark. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.

The university remains open. Operations will run as scheduled.

Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus. Please utilize the tunnel system to avoid inclement weather and potentially icy surfaces.
