Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Ottawa for today (Wednesday, January 24, 2024) into Thursday, January 25, 2024 morning.
Freezing drizzle or light flurries will persist today before precipitation transitions to freezing rain this evening. Significant ice build-up due to a long-lasting period of freezing rain, with ice accretion of 5 to 10 mm.Freezing rain is expected to last for many hours before tapering off Thursday morning. Another round of significant freezing rain is likely on Friday. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

The university remains open. Operations will run as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus. Please utilize the tunnel system to avoid inclement weather and potentially icy surfaces.
