Update: this weather advisory has ended.
Carleton University is aware of and monitoring the forecasted weather for Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory as conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds this afternoon. The advisory states there “is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado. Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs or toss debris short distances.”
The university remains open today. Operations will run as scheduled.
