Distance exams are designed for students who cannot take an on-campus exam but are registered in courses that require them. This service is frequently used for remote learners in online courses requiring in-person tests, varsity athletes with travel schedules, or anyone facing special circumstances that prevent them from being on campus for the day of test.
Students must be 160 km or more away from Carleton on the exam day and meet the course’s requirements. Distance exams either use our automated e-proctoring software CoMaS, or are hosted at a nearby educational institution (such as another university). Whether the distance exam is offered online, or in-person, is stipulated by the course instructor.
There are associated fees with this service.
