I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. As we kick off this year’s Staff Appreciation Week, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to each and every person in the Students and Enrolment Division. Your ongoing innovation, dedication and care for our students, staff and faculty continues to be the heartbeat of our great division. We could not continue to empower students to achieve their potential through our exceptional programs and services without your hard work.
As we enter our second summer where most of you have been working primarily remotely and others have been working safely on campus, it’s clear that this past year has been far from normal. I know this has not been an easy journey for many of us, and that there have been challenges along the way. I cannot say enough how impressed I have been with the resilience and adaptability of our teams. Your extraordinary efforts do not go unseen.
As our Engage. Empower. Inspire. Strategic Plan comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on all that we have accomplished in the past two years, much of which took place during a global pandemic, and it is truly astounding. We are compiling a report to highlight some of your incredible work over the past two years, and I am looking forward to being able to share that with all of you to celebrate our many successes. I am also excited to introduce you to our brand-new Students and Enrolment Strategic Plan later this summer, which will guide our division forward over the next 5 years.
Staff Appreciation Week reminds us to pause for a moment and celebrate. To acknowledge the exceptional people who make Carleton such a special place to work and to reflect on all that we have overcome and achieved together. I hope that you are able to take advantage of the virtual staff appreciation events happening this week, and to use this opportunity to celebrate yourselves and each other.
Thank you for all that you do and continue to do.
With gratitude,
Suzanne
