World War II: Ethics and Practice of Leadership: General de Gaulle

This will be the first in a series of seven conferences on Governance, Ethics and the Practice of Exemplary Leadership. The first four sessions will review the actions of president Franklin D. Roosevelt, prime minister Winston Churchill, generals Charles de Gaulle and Dwight D. Eisenhower, and prime minister William L. Mackenzie King. The 5th conference will focus on other personalities that played a strategic role such as Jean Moulin and Anthony Eden. The sixth conference will be devoted to the Bretton Woods system from its creation to current focus on human capital (health, education), innovation, governance (equity, transparency, anti-corruption, perceived and real systemic risk reduction) and infrastructure upgrading. The seventh conference offers comparative insights into the governance of several countries.

This conference will be delivered in French. Questions are welcome in English, if necessary.

For the first conference, Eventbrite.ca will automatically transfer, to the Richelieu Fondateur Fund, the fees paid by registrants. The Fund will refund Carleton for the refreshment expense and credit the balance to its Excellence Scholarships for Francophone Students in our community.

  • Optional: $100 in the form of a tax-deductible donation to the Excellence Scholarships of the Fonds Richelieu Fondateur.
