Carleton University is committed to providing all members of our community with access to appropriate education related to the safe and responsible serving and consumption of alcohol.
This year, the Office of Risk & Insurance Services, the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities and Campus Safety Services are collaborating to deliver this year’s alcohol training online.
This training is mandatory for all individuals (faculty, staff and students) who wish to work in alcohol service on campus including anyone:
- serving alcohol on campus
- providing security at an event where alcohol will be served, or
- those organizing events where alcohol where alcohol will be available
This virtual training is two parts, with each session lasting 60-90 minutes. On May 10, the sessions are scheduled:
10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
It includes Carleton’s Alcohol and Cannabis Policy, as well as the role of alcohol and drugs in harassment and sexual violence.
Once you have completed both sessions, you will be able to complete the Smart Serve certification online for free (you will be provided a token to do this).
