Canada and Carleton University will join over 100 countries around the globe in celebrating International Education Week (IEW) this fall term. The purpose of IEW is to raise awareness and understanding of international education, and its benefit to our academic institutions. The International Student Services Office has joined forces with numerous student groups and campus partners to present a great variety of programs that aim to engage the Carleton University community in what promises to be a fun and educational week. All events will seek to collectively highlight the importance of international education and its positive effects on the Carleton campus.
We will be hosting several events throughout the week such as the International Opportunities Exhibit (Monday November 13, 10:00AM-1:00PM), the perfect place for you to learn about some of the international opportunities available to students at Carleton University. Sit down with representatives from different offices and off campus organizations and hear what experiences are available to you! And if you’re considering an international exchange, you should join us for International Networking Night (Thursday November 16, 8PM-10PM). This networking event will help you connect with Carleton students who have recently returned home from exchange and current exchange students studying at Carleton this term. Hear firsthand experiences, learn more about the exchange culture, get tips, and start your network of international friends!
You will also be able to participate at the CU World’s Fair (Tuesday November 14, 12:00PM-3:00PM), a showcase of cultural groups and countries represented in our campus. Make sure to stop by the University Centre atrium from 12pm-3pm to check in with numerous cultural displays and groups, and if you would like to host a cultural/country specific display, please email Maria Walt.
