Join Carleton’s Communication and Media Studies program for the 15th Annual Attallah Lecture, “Meme War 2024: Networked Incitement in the Static Age.” This year’s Attallah Lecture will be delivered by Joan Donovan, PhD, assistant professor of journalism and emerging media studies at Boston University.
Drawing on her co-authored book Meme Wars, Dr. Donovan’s talk will offer an analysis of political communication strategies which leverage memes as a psychological weapon for media manipulation and disinformation campaigns. Reception begins at 6:00 p.m., and the lecture begins at 7:00 p.m.
