The first year of university brings exciting opportunities – and real challenges. Many students arrive on campus unsure of what’s expected or how to manage the increased independence, academic workload and social change.
To help ease that transition, Carleton offers Academic Prep: How to Be a University Student, a non-credit, one-week summer course designed to build the habits, skills and confidence to support a successful first year.
Topics include time management, notetaking, problem solving and student wellness.
The fee includes academic coaching during the school year. It’s a practical way for students to begin their journey with more clarity and confidence.
- Date: Mon. Aug. 24 through Fri. Aug. 28, 2026
- Cost: $250
