Summer Courses

The summer term is a great time to catch up or get ahead on your studies.

Registration for the summer session opens on Thurs. March 19, 2026 for degree students and Mon. March 23, 2026 for special students.

The summer schedule is available through Carleton Central (by logging into Carleton360) and registration instructions are on the Registration website.

Early summer and full summer classes begin on Wed. May 6, 2026. Late summer classes begin on Thurs. July 2, 2026.

Please refer to the Academic Year Calendar for all academic dates and deadlines.

Live in Residence

If you’re in Ottawa for courses, co-op or a summer job, consider living in Residence this summer!

Residence at Carleton is your home away from home, offering convenience, community and scenic campus views. Your room on campus offers easy commutes to class and access to public transit, the chance to meet new people and access to community spaces.

Students don’t have to take summer courses to live in residence. You can use your on-campus home as your space to rest and recharge between shifts at your summer job or co-op position, or simply to enjoy summer in the nation’s capital.

Please note priority is given to students enrolled in academic courses or co-op programs.

Optional Meal Plans

Summer residents are welcome to add a summer meal plan to their stay, but it is not a requirement for summer residence.

During the summer term, the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall operates on set meal periods and offers a reduced menu at the all-you-care-to-eat facility.

Select Dining Services locations around campus are open throughout the summer for study snacks or caffeine breaks.
