Environment Canada has ended the cold warning for Ottawa. At present, there are no alerts in effect.

Update #1: Thurs. Jan. 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning – cold for Ottawa for frigid temperatures overnight on Thurs. Jan. 29, 2026.

Wind chills of -33 to -38 are expected. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.

The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.

Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.
