Update #1: Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning – snowfall for Ottawa beginning tonight (Wednesday, January 14, 2026) and lasting into Thursday evening.
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. A developing low pressure system will bring significant snowfall to much of southern Ontario. A sharp temperature drop leading to cold wind chills by Thursday morning, during ongoing snowfall, will add to the adverse weather conditions. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Allow extra time for travel.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.
The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.
