Your Chosen Name is the first name you commonly go by and differs from your legal first name. Carleton University requires individuals use their legal name on all legal records and official documents with the exception of diplomas. The university is an inclusive community and acknowledges a Chosen Name can and should be used whenever possible in the course of university business and education.
