The City of Ottawa will return to temporarily close the Rideau River Pedestrian Bridge from Mon. Aug. 10 through Mon. Aug. 17, 2026 so crews can perform necessary work.
Sections of the pedestrian pathways on Carleton’s campus near the bridge will also temporarily close as city crews will need access from our campus. Please respect all traffic, pedestrian signs and barricades.

Update #2: Wed. July 8, 2026
The City of Ottawa has reopened the Rideau River Pedestrian Bridge as they were unable to complete the work at this time. The city is planning to reschedule the work to occur in Aug. and a one-week closure will be expected at that time.
Notice of the upcoming closure will be communicated to the Carleton campus community once that information is available.
