Special weather statement: rain View weather updates

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa for rainfall expected Sat. April 18 into Sun. April 19, 2026.

A cold front will sweep through the region Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing showers and the risk of a thunderstorm. Then another round of showers, possibly mixed with snow, will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are expected. The ground, already near saturation, has a limited capacity to absorb this rainfall.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.

The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
