Reduced Water Pressure & Building Cooling on Thursday, August 21

Reduced or fluctuating water pressure from taps and fixtures on campus is expected on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The City of Ottawa will be conducting necessary water meter replacement work on the primary water main that serves the campus.

The work is expected to start at 8:00 a.m. and is expected to last approximately eight hours. Limiting your water use on campus during this timeframe would be appreciated.

In addition to the reduced water pressure on campus, there is a chance that the cooling systems will be affected and reduced cooling will be available. The following buildings will be affected:

  • Steacie Building
  • Health Sciences Building
  • Herzberg Laboratories
  • Richcraft Hall
  • ARISE Building
  • MacOdrum Library
  • Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Building
  • Visualization and Simulation (VSIM) Building
  • Tory Building
  • Nideyinàn
  • Azrieli Theatre and Pavilion

During this period, you may notice warmer indoor temperatures, especially during the peak afternoon hours.

Facilities Management and Planning thanks you for your understanding during this interruption.
