Health and Counselling Services (HCS)

Health and Counselling Services (HCS) provides a wide range of physical and mental health services to students, staff and faculty. The on-campus clinic, located in the Carleton Technology and Training Centre (CTTC), is staffed by a dedicated team including family physicians, counsellors, GP psychotherapists, psychiatrists, a lab technician and supportive administrative personnel.

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Services Offered

  • Primary care visits: birth control, sexual health and STI testing, HPV vaccination, skin concerns, medication renewals, etc.
  • Urgent care clinic: for acute issues such as cold/flu symptoms, STI/UTI concerns and injuries or sudden pain.

Online booking through the CHR Connect app is available for regular appointments and urgent care needs.

Health and Counselling Services also offers the From Intention to Action (FITA) program, which supports students in the often stressful university experience. They can help students to better manage stress and improve their academic performance by navigating the personal stressors that can often get in the way of school.

In addition to individual counselling, Counselling Services offers group counselling led by trained counsellors to help students build coping strategies, learn new skills and connect with peers who may be facing similar experiences. Visit the Current Students website to discover the different support groups open in the fall.
