Environment Canada has ended the severe thunderstorm watch. There are currently no weather alerts in effect.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Ottawa for the evening of Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and torrential rain.
Hazards include wind gusts up to 110 km/h, torrential rainfall with amounts exceeding 50 mm and nickel sized hail.
Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn’t a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to monitor the Current Students weather page for updates.
The university remains open and operations are running as scheduled.
Please exercise caution when traveling to and commuting on campus.
