As a content warning, please note this email includes information and links about sexual violence. We understand that reviewing this material could trigger strong reactions and we encourage the community to connect with various support and resources.

To All Members of the Carleton Community,

Following a broad and inclusive consultation process with the Carleton community, the Board of Governors has approved the revised Carleton University Sexual Violence Policy at its meeting on June 4, 2025. The updated policy is now available on the Secretariat website.

As part of our commitment to transparency, we have also published a summary of all feedback received and community outreach activities conducted throughout the past academic year on the consultation website.

This revised policy represents one of many ongoing initiatives to prevent and address sexual violence on our campus. We received thoughtful input regarding training, resources, communication and support. This feedback has been shared with Equity and Inclusive Communities and the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Committee (SVPEC) to inform updates to the university’s broader sexual violence prevention strategy.

We remain committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important process. Your voices have helped shape a stronger, more responsive policy.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Blanchard
Vice-President (Students and Enrolment)
