Carleton University’s annual Sexual Assault Awareness Week runs Monday, January 22 to Friday, January 26, 2024. The Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities along with campus and community partners will be hosting a variety of events and workshops for you to attend throughout the week.
The quote that shaped this year’s campaign is “Collectivity: because everything worthwhile is done with others.” – Mariame Kaba.
The campaign is aimed to educate and raise awareness on the impacts of sexual violence on campus, but most importantly, it is to demonstrate a community of care for survivors here at Carleton. Collectively, departments across campus work together to ensure this week is meaningful and impactful, and to demonstrate their commitment to supporting survivors and preventing sexual violence on campus.
Some things to look forward to are the Expressions of Survivors and Allies Art Exhibit, an Affirmation Art Workshop, the Wellness Fair, Plant Potting in Residence and a Self-Care day at the Gender and Sexuality Resource Centre (GSRC). The full schedule of events is on the Equity website.
