Power Outage on Campus Resolved

Update 3: 3:00 p.m.

Power has been restored to all buildings on campus.

The power outage has impacted the capacity of the cooling systems to some buildings. Over the weekend, the Facilities Management and Planning team will be working on restoration of these systems.

The temperatures in the weather forecast for the next few days are expected to drop, which will assist in this process.

Update 2: 1:00 p.m.

Power and cooling has now been restored in the following buildings: Architecture, ARISE, MacOdrum Library, Dunton Tower, Ice House and Herzberg.

Power has been restored to HCI/VSIM. The cooling to HCI/VSIM is not yet operational.

At this time, it is unknown when power and cooling will be restored to Nicol and Lennox-Addington.

Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Update 1: 11:30 a.m.

Power and cooling has now been restored in the following buildings: Architecture, MacOdrum Library, Dunton Tower and the Ice House.

Power and cooling should be restored within an hour or two to HCI/VSIM and Herzberg.

At this time, it is unknown when power and cooling will be restored to Nicol and Lennox-Addington.

There is currently no power or cooling in several buildings on campus including: ARISE, Dunton Tower, Nicol, MacOdrum Library, Lennox-Addington, Herzberg Laboratories, HCI/VSIM, Southam Hall and Loeb.

This is due to the loss of power from one of the feeds to campus from Hydro Ottawa.

Other power outages are possible. Facilities Management and Planning is working with Hydro Ottawa to investigate the issue. It is not known at this time when power will be restored.
