Heat Warning in Ottawa Ended

This news post is more than one year old and has been retained for archive purposes. The information below may no longer be relevant.

Update: the heat warning has ended.

Carleton University is aware of and monitoring the forecasted weather for Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Ottawa, with hot and humid conditions expected.

We will post relevant updates to the weather news page, the Carleton Mobile app, at @Carleton_U on Twitter and other communications channels as needed.

According to Environment Canada, hot and humid air can bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category. Heat illness effects such as heat stroke, fainting and the worsening of some health conditions are a concern.

Environment Canada advises seeking a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.

The university remains open today.
