Tornado Watch Ended

This news post is more than one year old and has been retained for archive purposes. The information below may no longer be relevant.

Update: Please be advised that Environment Canada has now lifted the Tornado Watch.

Carleton University is aware of and monitoring the forecasted weather for Thursday, June 16, 2022. We will post relevant updates to students.carleton.ca/weather, the Carleton Mobile app, at @Carleton_U on Twitter and other communications channels as needed.

The university remains open today. Classes, academic-related activities and operations will run as scheduled. Convocation ceremonies are proceeding as planned.

In the event of an imminent threat, Environment Canada will issue a “tornado warning.” In that case, everyone who is on campus should:

  • Move to the interior of the building (hallways/interior rooms) and stay away from windows, skylights and glass
  • Seek shelter to the lowest level in your building or the tunnels
  • DO NOT try to leave campus
