This news post is more than one year old and has been retained for archive purposes. The information below may no longer be relevant.

Carleton welcomes students to apply for three to four month funded research internships in Mexico and Colombia, offered through the International Research Mobility Experience (IRME) project.

The Global Skills Opportunity program and Mitacs fund the IRME project. The program is administered in partnership between Carleton University, Lakehead University, Vancouver Island University, École de technologie supérieure and Memorial University of Newfoundland, all members of Canada and Latin America Research & Exchange Opportunities (CALAREO).

The standard award is $6,000 to cover expenses such as travel and living expenses. Indigenous students, students with disabilities and low-income students are eligible to apply for extra support, up to a maximum of $12,000, including support for dependents and/or caregivers.

Internship opportunities are available in a wide range of academic disciplines including science and technology, social sciences, education and business. The first four Carleton applicants who meet eligibility will be accepted.

For the list of internship opportunities, information on eligibility and how to apply, please visit the CALAREO website.
