Are you looking for a job in Canada but aren’t sure where to begin? Are you thinking about working in Canada in the near future and looking for resources to answer some of your questions? Navigating the Canadian Workplace is a virtual workshop series designed specifically to support international students and students who are newcomers as they explore strategies for finding work in Canada and transition into the Canadian workplace. This is a self-directed workshop series, meaning you can complete the individual workshops at your own pace. Topics include: Beginning Your Job Search and Building Your Resume, Canadian Workplace Culture, Introduction to the Canadian Hiring Process and more.
CANDEV Data Challenge
Registration open Wednesday, January 19, 2022 to Friday, January 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.
Calling all Carleton students over the age of 18! The CANDEV Data Challenge is a nation-wide series of intense problem-solving events organized by Statistics Canada and their federal partners. Taking place virtually from Friday, February 4, 2022 to Monday, February 7, 2022, this multi-disciplinary competition aims to unleash the power of data using real and current data challenges by the Government of Canada. This is your chance to showcase your skills to professionals from the federal government. The competition is not limited to any field of specialization, so grab your classmates or friends and sign up! Students who participate will be placed into teams of four and will have 48 hours to develop a prototype solution to their assigned data challenge. Students who complete the challenge by submitting a solution are eligible to apply to a targeted federal government recruitment pool for various positions.

Industry Virtual Co-op and Careers Fair

Join CRIC (Canadian Research Insights Council) and CAIP-PAIM Canada (Certified Analytics and Insights Professionals of Canada) for a half-day of discovering opportunities in the changing marketplace and connecting with a range of high value employers. This session is free for Carleton students and open to anyone looking for internships or co-op placements and new grads looking for full-time jobs. The event will include inspiring keynotes from diverse industry leaders, insights on the industry marketplace, discussion around the rise of remote opportunities and more.
