Carleton University and the Student Experience Office (SEO) will host the seventh annual SOAR Student Leadership Conference with special guest and keynote speaker Martin Luther King III on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Aimed at both new and seasoned student leaders, SOAR challenges previous notions and theories about leadership.
This full-day virtual conference includes a keynote speaker, expert speakers, student leaders and panel presentations. With engaging workshops and influential presentations, students grow leadership skills in an interactive way.
The conference is focused on engaging students with innovative leadership theories, strengthening their personal leadership philosophies and hearing the experiences of inspirational speakers.

Each year, this full-day conference at Carleton includes a keynote speaker, expert speakers, student leaders and panel presentations. This year’s programming will be held virtually with influential presentations and interactive opportunities to help students grow their leadership skills.
About Martin Luther King III
As the oldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King III serves as an ambassador of his parent’s legacy of nonviolent social change. Motivating audiences with his message of hope and responsibility for decades, his dedication to ridding the world of social, political, and economic injustice has propelled him to the forefront as one of the world’s most ardent advocates for the poor, the oppressed, and the disillusioned.
Mr. King will be providing the Keynote address at the SOAR 2021 Conference.
