As an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Communication, Benjamin Woo researches popular media industries and audiences with a focus on contemporary “geek” or “nerd” subculture. Currently, he is the director of the Comic Cons Research project, a co-investigator on the What Were Comics? Project, and heads Carleton’s new Research on Comics, Con Events, and Transmedia Laboratory.
