Centre for Student Academic Support – Service Update

As Carleton University continues to follow the safe meetings and social distancing guidelines, the Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) has transitioned to providing services remotely during their regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday). The best way to connect with CSAS is by email at You should receive a reply to your inquiry within 2 to 3 business days.

All in-person services were cancelled for the remainder of the winter term, however, in order to ensure that all students will have all the necessary academic support to successfully complete their winter semester, there are the following updates for each of the CSAS services:

Learning Support:

There are currently nine learning support workshops (three of which are writing specific) available on cuLearn. Students seeking academic support or needing to complete any learning support workshops as part of the Incentive Program, can self-enrol using the instructions on the Online Resources page.

For any questions related to the learning support services, including the Incentive Program, students are encouraged to email Tuesday, April 7, 2020, is the last day for the learning support workshops for the winter term.

Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS):

PASS Workshops and Office Hours will be taking place online for the remainder of the term. Students can meet with their PASS Facilitator virtually through the instructions on this page. PASS worksheets will be continued to be posted on the PASS Workshops page and students are encouraged to download the worksheet before virtually attending their PASS Workshop.

Please note the last day for PASS Workshops and Office Hours is Friday, April 3, 2020. After this date, students can virtually attend a PASS Take-Up Session for their Mock Final Exam. The full schedule is available on the PASS Mock Final Exam Page. Mock Final Exams will be posted on the PASS Workshops page a week before the Take-Up Session and students are encouraged to complete it beforehand.

Writing Services:

Writing support will be offered online for the remainder of the term. To get support, students should email with a short description of the challenges they are experiencing. The writing coordinator will be available to respond via email or to set up a virtual meeting.

All academic integrity workshops have been moved online for the remainder of the term. Students required by their faculty to complete a “one-on-one” workshop are now being asked to complete the workshop online. The workshop can be accessed through the Online Resources page. Friday, April 10, 2020, is the last day for students to receive writing support for the winter term.
