To All Members of the Carleton Community,
The latest Re$earch Infosource rankings of Canada’s top research universities show Carleton posted the country’s biggest increase in research funding among all comprehensive and medical universities.
Sponsored research income from external sources – a proxy for research quality and impact – jumped to $70,298,000 in 2018 compared with $54,369,000 the previous year, a sharp 29.3-per-cent increase.
Carleton’s corporate research income growth — research support from the private sector that is included in the sponsored research income total — was third among comprehensive universities in 2018.
These rankings from Re$earch Infosource, one of Canada’s leading R&D analysis organizations, confirm Carleton’s tremendous momentum.
Our community is charging ahead with more exciting research projects, awards and collaborations than ever, and with nearly 1,000 faculty members and more than 31,000 students, we have many success stories to celebrate.
Great things happen when we work together as a community and partner with external organizations that share our values and goals. We congratulate our faculty, research staff and students on all the innovative ideas that are addressing some of society’s greatest challenges.
