To all Members of the Carleton Community,
Over the next few weeks University Safety, in partnership with the Women’s Initiative for Safer Environments (WISE), will be conducting a safety audit of campus and we are looking for faculty, staff and student volunteers to help us.
WISE facilitators and volunteers will be assisting us through this process.
The audits will be conducted on four dates: Tuesday, October 30, Thursday, November 1, Tuesday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 5:00pm – 6:30 pm.
The campus will be divided into four quadrants and teams of volunteers will be assigned to conduct safety checks on a number of things including:
- site lines
- isolation factors
If you are interested in participating in the safety audit, please register online..
If you have questions about the safety audit, please contact Elsy David at firstname.lastname@example.org
The last safety audit of campus was conducted in 2008 and resulted in investments that resulted in more surveillance cameras installed, more than $1.5 million invested in changing lighting across campus, card access to buildings enhanced and the Emergency Notification System implemented.
We all have a role to play in making our campus as safe as possible.
Director, University Safety
