As we near the end of the first week of the strike by CUPE 2424 members, students are reminded that the university remains open and classes are continuing as scheduled.
Students are expected to attend class and continue with assignments, readings and other academic and research work. In cases where labs and tutorials had to be cancelled due to safety reasons, students have been notified.
Student service and support offices on campus remain open and operational to provide support to students during this difficult time. Information regarding reduced hours of operation and service levels is available at: students.carleton.ca/negotiations/service-information
Picket lines continue to be set up at both the Bronson Avenue and Colonel By Drive vehicle entrances. OC Transpo buses will not cross the picket line and continue to let passengers off on Bronson Avenue. The O-Train and Para Transpo continue to provide regular service to the Carleton campus. There are delays getting on and off campus and students are reminded to plan accordingly.
A free accessible shuttle service is now available for students with mobility issues, which will operate within the Carleton campus between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. To request the shuttle, please call 613-520-5609 with your name, student ID and pickup location.
Students can stay informed and keep apprised the changing nature of the strike action at: students.carleton.ca/negotiations
